Maschera Kitsune

Ornamental mask depicting a Kitsune (fox). Among the legends and folkloristic creatures of Japan, Kitsune is certainly among the most famous, in Japanese mythology it belongs to the category of Yokai, that is, spirits. According to Japanese mythology, the fox is an animal being endowed with great intelligence, able to live for a long time and to develop supernatural powers with the maturation phase; the more powerful a kitsune is, the more tails it has (up to a maximum of nine). Among the various powers that a kitsune possesses, the main one is to change appearance and take on human features, they often appear with the appearance of young and beautiful women.
The mask is made of ceramic and has been fixed on a wooden base to hang it on the wall with a purple cord.
