Kokeshi Mai

The name Mai derives from the name of a traditional Japanese dance and this kokeshi, made and hand painted by the artisan Chie Tamura, stage name of Tamura Noboru, represents a dancer with her inevitable fan. White flowers are engraved and painted on the red kimono. The originality of this doll is based on the length of her hair, which is longer than the traditional bob. It measures 15cm in height and has a diameter of 6.5cm. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
