Pair of kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Toa Sekiguchi. These kokeshi depict the emperor and empress of Japanese ornamental dolls called Hina Ningyō. The term Kotonone (里 の 子) in Japanese means "sound of the koto". The koto is a Japanese stringed musical instrument belonging to the zither family.
Measurements: the height of the emperor is 12cm and that of the empress 9.5cm, the diameter is 7cm.
Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
