Kokeshi, with a rounded shape, made and hand painted by Usaburo Kokeshi. The term Korokoro in Japanese is an onomatopoeic expression, which expresses the sound of a small rolling object. The term Daruma, on the other hand, refers to daruma dolls, also called dharma dolls, Japanese votive figurines, which represent Bodhidharma (Daruma in Japanese), the founder and first patriarch of Zen Buddhism. This kokeshi is a symbol of tenacity, perseverance and optimism. The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The dimensions are: height 9cm and diameter 9cm.
Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
