Kokeshi Negai

Kokeshi made and hand painted by award-winning artist Sansaku Sekiguchi (1925-2018), the only artist to be nominated by the Japanese government as "Creative Kokeshi Master". The kokeshi made by this artist are quite rare and valuable and differ from the kokeshi made by other artists for the elegant expression of the face and the accuracy of the details.
This kokeshi depicts a very sweet girl with her hands folded in prayer while asking for what she wants. In fact, the term Negai in Japanese means "desire".
Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
This doll stands 17.5cm tall and has a diameter of 7.5cm.
