Kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Masae Fujikawa, who won the "Prime Minister" award in 1996 and 2002 and the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" award in 1995 and 1996.
The term Hohoemi means "smile". This kokeshi wears a red kimono decorated with apricot blossoms. The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The kokeshi is accompanied by a wooden plate, with its name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. The doll is 15cm tall and has a diameter of 7cm. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
