Kokeshi Hanabi
Kokeshi Hanabi
Kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Masae Fujikawa, who won the "Prime Minister" award in 1996 and 2002 and the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" award in 1995 and 1996.
The term Hanabi in Japanese means "fireworks" and in fact on the doll's kimono there are two white kittens in love watching the fireworks.
The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The kokeshi is 15cm tall and 7.5cm in diameter. It is accompanied by a small wooden plaque, with his name, the name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
