Haori Shibori
Haori Shibori
Haori for woman in pure silk, in burgundy color, made with the precious Shibori technique. Shibori is an ancient Japanese dyeing technique which consists in tying and knotting the fabric before the actual dyeing. This type of Shibori is called "kanoko shibori", meaning each white square you see is created by pinching the cloth and tying some thread around each pinch. The thread creates resistance that prevents the dye from seeping in, creating the detailed pattern of the squares. This haori is an original Japanese period garment, belonging to the late Showa period (1960-1989). It is a unique piece, sewn and packaged entirely by hand, and is in excellent condition as it has never been worn. As a guarantee of a product that has never been used, it still has the tailor's basting stitches on the front of the jacket and in the sleeves.
Measurements: length 80cm, sleeve to sleeve 130cm.
It can be worn open as a jacket or overcoat or closed with a high waist belt and can be combined with both casual and elegant garments, such as jeans, leggings, trousers and dresses.
