Haori with phoenix damask motif
Haori with phoenix damask motif
Haori for woman in pure black silk with an elegant damask motif depicting phoenixes. The phoenix, often also referred to with the epithets "phoenix arab" and "bird of fire", is a mythological bird present in the folklore of various peoples considered capable of controlling fire and being reborn from its ashes after death.
This haori is an original Japanese period garment, belonging to the late Showa period (1960-1989). It is a unique piece, sewn and packaged entirely by hand. Behind the nape there is a Kamon (family crest), which gives formality to the head.
Despite being a vintage piece, its condition is quite good, it has only a few yellowish spots, barely visible, due to age in the green inner lining with a floral pattern.
Measurements: length 76cm, sleeve to sleeve 126cm.
It can be worn open like a jacket or overcoat or closed with a high waist belt and can be combined with both casual and elegant garments, such as jeans, leggings, trousers and dresses.
