The Chasen is a bamboo whisk essential for mixing Matcha tea in the cup (Chawan) with hot water. Its use is closely linked to the tradition of the Japanese Tea Ceremony (Cha no yu). It is made from a single piece of bamboo, which, through a meticulous workmanship of expert craftsmen, unravels at the top to obtain the characteristic filaments called "hosaki". This Chasen is made up of 80 hosaki. Measurements: 11.4cm x 6cm
