Kokeshi made in a single copy by the award-winning artist Yuko Yamazaki. Born in Tokyo in 1956, she started making kokeshi at the age of 35, she was the only pupil of the great artist Takashi Yoshida (1948-2007). All her works are created in a single copy and stand out for their femininity and refinement in the details, for their elegance and for the strong emotions they are able to convey. She says that she creates her works with the aim of giving new life to a tree that had lost it and to shake the soul of those who are admiring them.
This kokeshi stands out for its fine carving work and for its sweet and serene expression. Her name is Kinshu and it depicts a young girl who has collected autumn leaves, finely engraved colored leaves that she holds in her arms. He wears a very sunny yellow kimono, on which he wears a haori (a silk jacket like the kimono) Nishiki, a term used to refer to brocade.
The kokeshi stands 27cm tall and has a diameter of 10cm. The wood used for its creation is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood).
It comes with a wooden tag with his name in Japanese, the artist's signature and stamp and the original packaging is included.
