Kokeshi Michiyuki
Kokeshi Michiyuki
Kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Masae Fujikawa, who won the "Prime Minister" award in 1996 and 2002 and the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" award in 1995 and 1996. The term Michiyuki in Japanese, in addition to indicating a coat with a square neckline, used by Japanese women over the kimono to protect themselves from the cold, also means "to travel". The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The kokeshi stands 19cm tall and has a diameter of 8.5cm. It is accompanied by a small wooden plaque, with his name, the name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it.
Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
