The term Hohoemi in Japanese means "smile". This kokeshi wears a beautiful finely carved and hand painted green kimono, decorated with colorful plum blossoms (ume).
The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The doll is 12.5cm tall and 6cm in diameter.
The kokeshi is accompanied by a wooden plate, with its name, the name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
