Kokeshi made and hand painted by Usaburo Kokeshi. This doll represents Kintaro, a character from Japanese folklore. It is a child with inhuman strength who grew up in the mountains with animals as friends. "Golden Boy" is the translation that comes closest to his name, the boy usually wears an apron with the word Kin "Gold" printed on it. Another recurring element is the ax that he always carries with him.
The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). It measures 10.5cm in height and has a diameter of 7cm.
Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi, Okamoto Usaburo.
