Kokeshi Enoshima

Kokeshi made and hand painted by the artist Megumi Nozawa. The name of this kokeshi is Enoshima which indicates a small Japanese island located near the city of Kamakura. The artist depicted a chubby young boy wearing a beautiful kimono consisting of a Haori (jacket) with Chidori (birds) motif and a hakama (skirt / trousers) with traditional Japanese Seigaiha wave motif. The stylized Seigaiha waves symbolize the four seas surrounding Japan and represent peace, serenity and the flow of life.
The kokeshi is accompanied by a wooden plate with the artist's name, signature and stamp. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
