Kokeshi made and hand painted by the award-winning artist Masae Fujikawa, who won the "Prime Minister" award in 1996 and 2002 and the "Minister of Agriculture, forestry and Fishery" award in 1995 and 1996.
The name of this kokeshi is Doushin which in Japanese means "Child's heart". On the kimono of this doll, rough to the touch due to its processing, plum blossoms (Ume) are painted.
The wood used for the creation of this kokeshi is Mizuki (Japanese dogwood). The kokeshi stands 20cm tall and 9cm in diameter. It is accompanied by a wooden plate, with its name, the name and the stamp of the craftsman who made it. Original packaging is included, stamped and signed by the artist who created the kokeshi.
